About

Help RockEnrol Get More Young People Out To Vote This Election!

Project 2017-07-11 17:58:25 +1200

Launched in 2014, RockEnrol was a key player in securing an increase in the youth vote (18 - 29) from 2011 to 2014. We combine social media, music, art and events with digital and community organising to build and activate young people's political power.

We are young, intersectional, energised, organised and totally nonpartisan. Our ambition is to reach every young person in Aotearoa with a message of hope, and a call to action to vote.

Here’s our plan for 2017:

Over the next six weeks, we will train and equip 100 young people all around the country to become democracy champions. We will train them in media work, community organising and civics education, and we will also provide the skills and tools they need to get other young people out to vote. We will work with artists and creatives to get our messages across in new and interesting ways both and offline.

In September, the RockEnrol team will work with experts to analyse the policies of each political party based on what young people have said they care about. Our volunteers will get to work making sure every person we engage through this campaign has the information they need to make an informed decision come Election Day.

We have already secured LUSH as a partner for the 2017 election campaign, and we have 93 volunteers signed up and ready for action. What we need now is funding to pay for a Campaign Director, training materials, resource packs to support our volunteers and money for a social media campaign.

We want to raise $10,000 over the next 21 days. Will you help us?

What you get in return:

RockEnrol T-Shirts: The amazing Anieszka Banks who designed our t-shirts in 2014 is designing a new t-shirt for us for 2017. If you like the designs below, you’ll love our new one (photos to come)

RockEnrol Secret Agent Packs: Become a RockEnrol champion in your hood! This swag bag will have stickers, posters and enrolment forms so you can get people enrolled and connected to the issues that matter in your community.

RockEnrol Civics Education Packs: RockEnrol have developed a 45 - 90 minute interactive democracy workshop that helps people to challenge misconceptions about Government and see the power in voting. We will send you the materials required to run this workshop in your own community.

Brand new stickers and organic crewneck: We just added these badboys to the line-up of merchandise!

Or you can just chip in - whatever you can - and feel happy knowing you’ve done your bit to support youth voice in politics.

With deep gratitude,

Laura, Alex, Pania, Daniel, Anya, Ramon, Luke, Will, Ella, Ollin, Gemma, Chennoah, Henrietta, Silke, Rachel, Sarah, Lauren, Zoe, Wumi, Alice, Miriam, Max and Archie - the RockEnrol team.
