WHO WE ARE

We are 18 students and one amazing teacher raising money to provide bikes for children in foster families in collaboration with Fostering Kids NZ. We make up 11MI from Diocesan School for Girls and are really passionate about this cause. We are a multi-talented tutor group made up of bakers, athletes, singers, artists and much more, all prepared to use our diverse range of talents to work together to provide these bikes. We all remember getting a new bike; you feel like the possibilities are endless and you gain an innate sense of freedom.

ABOUT FOSTERING KIDS NZ

With New Zealand having an estimate of over 10,000 young adults, teens and children unable to live with their biological parents or family Fostering kids NZ are an organisation that helps children in New Zealand that can’t live with their biological parents anymore find a safe home to stay. Fostering kids NZ provides support, love and encouragement to foster families and the caregivers to create the best possible environment for the foster children and their caregivers to live in. We are raising money for Fostering kids NZ as we want to ensure everybody experiences the joy and happiness we all experienced as children riding a new bike. By doing this we hope we could make someone's life a little better and put a smile on their faces.

HOW WE'RE HELPING

We believe that you should support our initiative of giving bikes to foster children because it would benefit both you and the foster children. We are raising money for Fostering Kids as we are passionate about wanting the children to have the same childhood adventures that we all shared. Learning to and riding a bike is a key life skill and is a great activity for leisure, fitness and fun. Recieving a brand new bike is en experience few forget. By pledging to us, you will ensure three foster children will have this opportunity and you too will benefit because you will get the feeling of helping the community.

WHY BIKES

Growing up as a kiwi kid involves many things. Being a kiwi means embracing the unique aspects to our beautiful country and often means experiencing and enjoying our incredible outdoors through various activities. By providing bikes for these foster families not only are we helping these kiwi kids get out and enjoy our country but also bringing these families closer together and helping these kids become confident and independant future leaders. Riding bikes, with your family or on your own, creates valuable memories and is an experience not found anywhere else. With your pledges, we can provide foster families with this unique and unforgettable experience.
