Make a pledge - your credit card will only be charged it we meet our goal and we will issue receipts - donations are tax-deductible.
$7 for 7 soldiers - and all 7 will stay up on our building till we move to a new one...

Our story:

From the WWII Services Convalescent Hospital and the post-war Queen Elizabeth Hospital to a world-class Wellness and Spa centre in 75 years, QE Health has always followed the principles of holistic healthcare.

The Hospital opened at time of great strife and turmoil – in 1942 with World War II raging  - and was a sanctuary for Kiwi soldiers returning from the battlefields, a place to heal the body, the spirit and the mind.

In 2017 we celebrate our 75th anniversary.
It is an opportunity to remember our origins and our history and to commemorate those who served and all of those who have worked here over the years.

The Anzac Day Rotorua Yarnbomb is a part of this.
Seven, 2-metre tall soldiers made from 4000 poppies knitted and crocheted by over 200 lovely folk from the Rotorua community and around New Zealand.
Albert is sponsored by the Geyser Community Fund and Jack by the Friends of QE Health.
Both Nga Whenua o Pukeko and O'Sullivan Clemens have sponsored soldiers.
They will stay up on the side of the building till we move in around 2 years...

soldiers x 3

We are looking to the future - and our next 75 years - with planning for a new building well underway.

All proceeds from sponsorship of the poppies and the soldiers go to the new building fund and the RSA Welfare Fund.
Thanks to the Geyser Community Foundation, Rotorua Yarnbombers and Friends of QE Health.
The Yarnbomb is endorsed by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage and supported by the Waiouru Army Museum.

All 7 soldiers are now standing!

19/04/2017 at 2:54 PM

Thanks to a break in the weather (and some hard work from our team!) we now have all 7 soldiers standing proudly on our wall. Have you had a look yet?

Thanks to your support we have raised over $5000 in pledges so far (this is fantastic) however in order for us to reach our target of $7500 in the remaining 11 days, we need a little more help from you please.

This is crowd funding campaign and we need to reach as much of our crowd as we can in the short time the campaign it is running. Please share this link with your network, tell them why you are supporting the project, and encourage them to join us with a pledge too.

Thanks again for the support!
