Bring The World Premiere Of No Science To Goodbye To The Festival Of Colour And BATS Theatre
Project 2017-03-14 09:35:39 +1300
- Ravel Productions is a theatre company whose vision is to tell innovative and engaging stories about people and place. In April this year, we are bringing our new show, No Science To Goodbye to Glenorchy and Wanaka for the Festival of Colour, followed by a season at BATS theatre in Wellington. We need your help to make this happen!
No Science To Goodbye interweaves spoken word, drama and soundscape to show a trio of unravelling lives. The piece has been called a "theatrical poem", with each scene the verse in the larger work.
It is a quintessentially New Zealand story which explores how our lives and decisions are woven together and how we find our place to stand within this landscape. It asks questions that will resonate with people from both the cities and the regions: How are people connected to place? How do we communicate in today’s world? What is left unsaid in the spaces between our conversations? What are the consequences for the things we don’t say? How do we calculate risk? How do we deal with loss? Where do the poetic and the rational coincide?
After a succesful development season in 2016, the work is now ready to unfurl onstage. We have some funding from the Otago Community Trust, Southland Community Trust, a QLDC Creative Communities grant, RNZ and the Festival of Colour and we just need a little more to cover the travel costs of getting the cast and crew to the Southern Lakes - the home of the play.
Please join us on our journey and support the creation and presentation of new NZ theatre.
