About

Hot Diggity: Bustin' Out... Women In Bluegrass Album Project

Project 2017-03-13 22:10:28 +1300

Hot Diggity is New Zealand's only all female bluegrass band. Our performances are a mix of driving bluegrass, virtuosic solos, vintage styling and original songwriting.

Every time we play people ask, "where can I buy your album?" We have plenty of material all ready for an album, both original songs (penned by Heather Carrigan and Deborah MacKenzie) and hot traditional bluegrass.

Buying studio time, and paying for engineers, producers, mixing and mastering, is expensive.  We've been saving up our gig money to go towards this project, but we still need your support.

Your pledge now is the best way for you to show you support women in bluegrass, original songwriting, and attention to style and tradition.

Thank you for your support! You're the reason we do what we do!

Recording is going well!

Thanks to Te Hiku media for putting together this lovely little profile of Hot Diggity.

We wanted to let you know that we've just finished our first weekend of recording at Depot Sound with Dave Rhodes in Devonport. We liked Dave as soon as we saw him, and he is a joy to work with. He seems to really understand what we're trying to get out of our sound, and his suggestions are helpful and constructive. We're really looking forward to our next weekend with him in June!

Success!

Thank you to all of our supporters!  We will be starting in the studio on May 20th!  Before then we'll be performing at the Llama Lounge in Whangarei Heads on May 20th, and at the MOTAT Peachy Keen Mother's Day event on May 14th. We hope to see you there!

We have started a mailing list to keep in touch after we've finished the album and processed all the pledge perks. Until then, we will continue to send out notices through PledgeMe, but if you'd like to keep in touch after that (and we hope you will!) you can sign up for the new mailing list using the sign up form on the sidebar at http://hotdiggity.nz/.

Thank you again for your support!

2 days to go!

We are so thrilled with your support for our project. Thank you so much!  We've reached our goal, so things are going ahead as planned. That is fantastic! So exciting! As soon as our project closes we'll be sorting out all of your perks and getting in touch with you.

We hope to see some of you in Whangarei on May 13th, and at MOTAT for the Mother's Day special on the 14th. Please feel free to "frock up" for the event! And don't forget the flower for your hair!
