About

All Scars To The K-Town Shakedown And The Big O

Project 2017-01-31 16:32:31 +1300

Auckland's Pirate City Rollers need your help to get to WFTDA tournaments The K-Town Shakedown in Kalamazoo, Michigan and The Big O in Eugene, Oregon.

dates

The K-Town Shakedown is a WFTDA Recognized tournament welcoming WFTDA Division 1-3 A and B teams as well as MRDA leagues from the US, Canada, Sweden, and New Zealand. The Big O Tournament is one of the biggest annual WFTDA events hosting Women’s, Men’s, and Junior roller derby teams from both the U.S. and around the world.

While PCR travel abroad each year to work on their international ranking, this is the first time we've been accepted into two back-to-back tournaments.

Founded in 2006, PCR (Pirate City Rollers) is the first roller derby league in the entire Southern Hemisphere. Since it's inception, PCR have pioneered the sport of roller derby in New Zealand.  In 2009, Pirate City Rollers vs. Wellington's Richter City was the first interleague game in New Zealand.  In 2013 PCR went onto become the first ever WFTDA (Women's Flat Track Derby Association) member league in New Zealand, and in that same year they were crowned the undefeated champions of the New Zealand Derby Royale national tournament. Currently, PCR is the #1 ranked league in New Zealand! The Pirate City Rollers are all about competing at a high level of Roller Derby.  We wish to continue to help grow this amazing, fast paced sport in New Zealand, and around the World!

We’d dearly appreciate any and all help from friends and fans to get there – contact us at [email protected]. Keep up with us on Facebook for up-to-the-minute updates here
