Alpine Pacific Gift Box That Gives Twice
Project 2016-12-01 12:55:17 +1300
Delight in a gift that gives twice this Christmas.
North Canterbury, Hurunui and Kaikoura have all been impacted by the devastating 7.8 earthquake and continuing aftershocks. Alpline Pacific in a Box showcases local products and supports what this special region has to offer. It is a unique way to support the communities and their livelihoods devastated by the earthquakes and subsequent downturn in tourist and travel trade. Our boxes will be hand-picked for quality, and offer a sample of local and regional products chosen for the way in which it encapsulates the region’s character.
This is a story of Canterbury people wanting to give back, having direct experience of the love and giving received to our community following the Christchurch earthquakes. This is a non-profit venture to ensure that the support goes directly to local business and communities. The name of the box is a nod to the Alpine Pacific Triangle State Highway route that connects these regions together.
Savour every bite and sip of your Alpine Pacific in a Box knowing it is helping others through tough times. #eqtoughtimes

You can still support the campaign!

It looks like we won't make our target but we are rapt to have had your support. The way pledgeme works is that the money you pledged only gets transfered to us if we reach the target. So you can assume you won't be charged but you can still support us!
We still have artisan products available to make up $30-50 boxes. This still then supports some of the small businesses in the earthquake affected regions and enables us to set up in the new year a new enterprise to carry on this GOOD work and offering boxes at anytime from this region and a new Canterburyinabox.
So firstly, if you would still like a $30-50 Apline Pacific Box of gorgeous goodies please email me directly connect(at)flourish.org.nz
Secondly, Like us on Facebook to keep up with the new developments and exciting new innovative venture starting up next year to continue this GOOD work. https://www.facebook.com/AlpinePacificinabox/ and https://www.facebook.com/FlourishChCh/
A very big warm thanks for your support to this campaign. It has taken a lot of work but we have set up some great relationships with small family businesses across the Hurunui and Kaikoura. We are very passionate about continuing this work and supporting these communities through tough times. It is still very early days.
Merry Christmas

We are only a few days off for the end of the campaign and needing to reach our target!
Thanks for your support through your pledge - that's fantastic! We are sourcing some amazing products and working through the logistics of making it easy for those most affected by sending volunteers from Christchurch to go pick stuff up from as far as Cheviot!
Can you also support us helping this eq region by sharing the campaign via email, facebook or old school chatting at the watercooler? Can't believe it's only been a month since the 7.8 and they are working through aftershocks and cleaning up damage still.
Help is get to the target by the end of this friday! Like, Share, Pledge!

Secret Santa

Due to popular demand we have added a new reward! A secret santa box that will show up all your work colleagues - which if we are talking frankly - is what we all like to do in a good way!
Kinda like that goat that you can buy for people that goes to someone living in poverty. Our Boxes are a beautiful gift full of yummies sourced from those in the area hit by the devastating 7.8 earthquake, aftershocks, closed roads, no tourists, damaged homes etc.
Not that we are comparing people in poverty to those in Hurunui and Kaikoura! But we don't want our neighbours to become improvished and lose their livelihoods. It's about helping our big backyard and for those like us in Canterbury - it is a lovely chance to give back as we received so much support that meant so much in those early days and months of our quakes.

We've got the supply of wonderful fancy syrups and cordials arriving in Christchurch today from Hanmer!
This is the lovely message we got from the husband and wife team that make them:
"My husband and I have a small business called 'Out in the Wild' and we make fruit syrups and cordials. All made from locally hand picked fruit and natural with no added preservatives. We make elderflower cordial, wild plum syrup, yellow plum syrup and apricot syrup. We also make sour cherry syrup and lavender syrup.
This 'in the box' is really helping us as we don't have our own shop and have just lost supplying to our key shops during the time when we sell the most to them over the summer months. We hope that the Kaikoura Cheese shop will be up and running once Kaikoura is open again. Sarah who runs the Waiau gift shop hopes to reopen this when she has sorted out her red-stickered house, so maybe next year?? We are just a small part time business.
