About

NZ's Only Felt Florist Needs A Helping Hand!

Project 2016-08-26 10:32:01 +1200

All my flowers, are made by my hands. Each petal, each, leaf, each flower, is cut and constructed by hand.
This is beginning to have an effect on me, resulting in constant aching, sore wrists and hands. I have only just recently eliminated and narrowed down products, to discover my niche.
I've finally found what I love to do the most - make felt flowers. I do not want to give up my dream of having a felt florist shop, so I need a helping hand.
The only way to do this is to make a slight change in how my flowers are made.

I need a fabric cutting machine (A Brother Scan N Cut CM 900), to reduce some of the work that I do, and relieve some of the stress on my wrists and hands.
The machine will cut petals and leaves, but I will still be constructing flowers by hand, so a good proportion of my products will still be handmade.

I love that my flowers make people happy. They do not die, they need very little care, if any at all, and they do not cause hayfever or pollen allergies.
In some cases such as weddings, my flowers also become a special keepsake. To continue to be the first and best felt florist in NZ, would be amazing.

This project has been created to try solve a problem, before the problem becomes unsolvable.
I don't want to stop what I am doing. I don't want to go to physio for the rest of my life. I don't want to wear wrist guards and be restriced to what I can and can't do.
Having a Scan N Cut machine will not only reduce the stress on my wrists and hands, but it will also increase the production rate of which my flowers are made.
This means I can stop saying no to all your wonderful requests and start saying YES! And finally (after many failed attempts), I can get some proper stock on hand, ready to be shipped.

The funds raised through this project will cover the costs of the machine, the extra accesories I need for the machine, the cost of the rewards and the PledgeMe fees. If funds exceed my goal amount, I will look into purchasing two machines, to really drive my production rate up like never before!

WE DID IT!

04/10/2016 at 10:17 PM

Thanks to everyone who pledged! I seriously can't thank you enough. With all of your help WE DID IT! Together, your pledges reached my goal. I can't than you all enough!!! This is just a quick mass update, but I have now ordered the machine, and I hope to have it by the end of the week. It will take a little while to figure out the machine, and get used to it, but over the next few days, you should all recieve an email from me, to discuss your reward so I can start preparing, and/or to say thanks!

Oh My Gosh!

02/10/2016 at 8:40 AM

Okay, so there is one day left of this PledgeMe project. And I am actually blown away. I truly did doubt myself. I doubted the fact that I was good enough at what I do, to get the support I needed. But you guys have well and truly proved me wrong. You've pledged. And guess what.  We have reached our goal, and gone over it in fact. The support comes far and wide, from followers, to friends, to family, both here in NZ and in Australia. You guys have given me the boost to truly believe in myself 150%, no less. You guys have given me the opportunity to continue doing what I love to do,  you have given me a second chance. Without this machine, I knew I was going to have to cut back my work load big time. But now, well...Ya'll just have to wait and see. So many visions to make a reality. I can't thank you all enough. I only plan to be bigger and better than ever before, and other than the rewards, I will be figuring out the a way to give back (to everyone/our community/our followers) in someway. So, again, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! xx

NEW REWARDS!!!

25/09/2016 at 5:50 PM

Hi all!!!

With about a week to go, I have had requests for a few specific rewards! So I have added 2 new rewards.

The first is a mixed foliage and flower pack for $25 - great for all your shelfies, flatlays and stacklays.

The second is for any 3 flowers (with stems) for $15 - This is probably the cheapest you will ever see my flowers!!! These  flowers are perfect for any styling needs, or great as a little gift. Maybe to add a little something new to a nursery, your lounge or kitchen area. Let your creative juices flow!

Thanks so much again to EVERYONE who has pledged. I am actually blown away by the support, and I truly hope we can reach the goal, as the support is totally encouraging me to keep going and work harder to produce bigger and better felt floral creations!!!

LETS GET THAT MACHINE!!! xx

Almost there!!!

20/09/2016 at 5:02 PM

Hi 😊

This morning there was a slight hiccup. Someone accidentally pledged the wrong amount. This resulted in a false success of reaching my goal. It is now rectified and we are still trying to reach my goal. Only $455 to go. We are almost there!!!

Thanks so much again to all of you who have pledged.

WOAH!

Check it out!!! I have received $900 from someone via bank transfer to put towards this project!!!! So I pledged on their behalf. They didn't choose a reward, but they'll be getting one none the less!!!! :D

This brings the project over the 50% mark. How exciting! And still 25days to go!

I am so thankful to those who have pledged so far. I feel like I'm so close to reaching that goal.

Good news!

06/09/2016 at 10:35 AM

Hey guys!

First of all, thank you so much to those who have already pledged! It hasn't even been 24hours and we are alsmot at 10% of our target goal! :)

Secondly, good news from the team at PledgeMe. I had someone contact me this morning wanting to pledge, but didnt have a debit/credit card. I can now confirm, that if you don't own one, you can deposit some money into my bank account, and I can pledge on your behalf using my debit card.
If you'd like to do this, just flick me a message at [email protected]
