I've had my proposal for the Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens accepted – 10 large-scale outdoor panels, black and white, depicting certain things of local significance, including the Auckland to Helensville train, the disappeared kauri forests, the sand mine, the river and the perilously leaning Kaukapakapa slaughterhouse.

Creating the artwork for these panels is relatively straightforward for me – I am a graphic designer by day, but having them printed and applied to the panels is the expensive bit – to have all 10 printed will cost almost $6000.

The panels are large (two of them are 1.2 x 2.7m and the other eight are 1.2m square) and the printing and application needs to have a long outdoor life, since they will be at the sculpture trail for at least 12 months, and may be kept outside after that.

So I am trying to raise $2000 to have the two largest panels printed – I can afford to fund two of the smaller ones, so if I can meet my target, I can at least put up 4 panels. However, the more you can pledge, the more I can print! It would be truly awesome to fill all 10 panels.

There are lots of rewards to choose from... have a look and see what you think.

If you can't afford to pledge any money right now, I'd really appreciate you spreading the word via Twitter, Facebook, email or any other means to your networks.

Thank you in advance!
Carol

Massive thanks to all of you who have pledged so far. I have been really touched by your generosity.
I am currently half way through the funding period and not quite half way to my target.
If you can, I would really appreciate you sharing the link where ever you can – the more people who see it, the more likely I am to reach my target!
Thank you!!
Carol
