Share the journey with me as I record my third album

My name is Sonny Southon I am a singer/songwriter whose music is soulful with a bit of funk and soft rock. 

I was born and raised in Upper Hutt, New Zealand and left the homeland at 18 with one goal …. to sing.   Whilst on my quest overseas I sang for known artists including Sir Bob Geldolf, Duran Duran and Matt Bianco, before signing a publishing contract with Warner Chappell Music Publishing UK on my songwriting merit.  This led to my releasing two critically acclaimed solo albums, Falling Through a Cloud and All the Colors. I have now settled back home in Wellington and am finally ready to record my long awaited third album.

I come to Pledgeme to ask for help in raising the money I need to go into the studio and record my third album which is  written.  Every dollar raised will go towards the costs of recording, musicians, mixing, mastering, my engineer and producer’s fee plus campaign fees.  I have a producer lined up and have since met some great kiwi musicians who I am excited to get into the studio with.  Your help will see this album completed and released by the end of the year.

Last year I self-funded two singles which were produced by Jason Kerrison, as part of a fundraising for the DownesSyndrome Charity, organised through Roundhead Studios in Auckland and I am now looking to raise the money I need to record my album which I am very excited about. 

I estimate $16,000 but if we manage to go over (wouldn’t that be awesome) I would then have the money to keep going towards the promotion of the album, a music video, online marketing and maybe even a tour.
