About Fostering kids NZ
Fostering Kids New Zealand supporting caregivers throughout the country to provide safe and nurturing homes for children. We are raising money for them as there is an estimated 10,000 foster families in New Zealand. Through your help, you’ll be able to help more Kiwi kids in foster care further expand their sense of self-worth and ensure a brighter future for some of New Zealand’s most vulnerable children.
How are we trying to help?
Do you remember the feeling of getting a new bike? Shiny handles, metallic paint, leather seat, the excitement but most importantly the knowledge that your bike could take you to any place that you want to go.. We are a group of high school students from Auckland and we are campaigning to raise $550 so that three kiwi kids in foster care will each receive their own brand new bike.
A bike will belong to a child for a long part of their life, providing these kids with a sense of independence that they might not have had the chance to encounter before. By providing this opportunity we hope for a passion to grow, may that be directly through cycling or the access to the freedom they will now have. A bike can also be a simple tool for having fun and making friends as well as providing new opportunities for children to bond with their families.

We know that there is no one archetypal foster family but we do know that their families have opened their hearts and their homes to children. Foster parents give much to their children, many taking in those who wouldn’t have a family and create one around them. We know that this takes dedication and work. We want to embody the giving spirit of Foster Kids NZ with this action of giving. Help us to achieve this by donating.
