About the Bicycool initiative

We are a close group of high school students who are passionate about giving back to our community and want to make a change in foster kids lives.

About Fostering kids NZ

We are supporting Fostering Kids NZ. Fostering kids NZ aims to support foster families who open up their homes and hearts to the children who are in need of a place to call home. Fostering kids NZ aims to do this by providing encouragement, support and education to fostering families, they do this to ensure that the placement has the best possible chance of working out.   

We are raising money to provide children in foster care with their very own brand new bike. We aim to do this through crowdfunding where we will also promote the good work Fostering Kids NZ does and seek out donations.

How are we trying to help?

Riding bikes is a classic Kiwi family tradition, and we hope that by fundraising to give Kiwi foster kids bikes it gives them an opportunity to bond with their foster family and ensures that they have the chance to experience what we ourselves view as a fond memory of our own childhood years.

Having a bike allows people to….

• Take up a new skill and hopefully find a passion

• Learning to ride a bike is a bonding experience with any child's family, and we want to give every foster kid we fundraise for that experience.

• Gives them ownership of something and a sense of responsibility
