Hello!

We are still raising money to support fostering families with brand new bikes! We are doing so well currently with our campaign and have raised over $300!!

We thought you might like to know a little bit about the foster kids we are getting bikes for:

One girl, aged 6, her favourite colour is purple, her role model is her brother and her favourite animal is a poodle.

One boy aged 10, his favourite colour is orange, his favourite superhero is Batman and his favourite animal is a dog.

One boy, aged 9, limited information about him at this stage.

 About the MI Bike initiative*?
We are a group of year 11 girls from Diocesan school who are passionate about supporting children in foster homes who deserve a new bike. Everyone remembers the moment of receiving a new bike; you feel like you have endless possibilities and have a sense of freedom. We would love to give that experience to young children in foster homes who are possibly unable to experience what most of us have. We as a young group of girls would like to give to the community around us; hopefully making someone's day a little brighter.

About Fostering kids NZ

Fostering kids NZ is an organisation which helps to support fostering families who open their homes and hearts  to children in foster care. They do this by providing support, encouragement, and education to fostering families, so that the placement has the best possible chance of succeeding in providing a positive environment for both the family and the children. We are raising money for fostering kids NZ as we feel that we need to help and support them in their vision, which is enabling every foster family to feel empowered, supported and trained to provide a safe and nurturing home for children.

How are we trying to help?

We are crowdfunding $550 to purchase three bikes including helmets to give to 3 kids in fostering families. We are extremely grateful for those who support us in our  journey to raise funds, as we feel that children in NZ deserve a chance to own a bike, and without  supporters donating to our campaign we cannot make this dream a reality. By owning a new bike gifted by MI bike, the foster children will be given the opportunity to have many more experiences to share with their foster families.  By gifting a bike to the foster children, offers further support to developing the relationships between the child and their foster parents, this can improve bonding opportunities for the families by going on adventures together and building trust.
