Our not-for-profit is the only Veterans dedicated medial facility in NZ that proactively seeks to continually improve the opportunities for NZ Veterans to access quality healthcare and resource information.

VIDEO:  RANNERDALE THE PLACE AND ITS PEOPLE

We're here to suport our veterans and their families by brining our caring and committment ethos into our day to day care of our clients.  We want to share our values with others and inspire you to join us to create a better future for tailored Veterans healthcare.  We wish to create a sense of belonging for NZ Veterans, visitors, families, staff, stakeholders and volunteers.  We want you to enjoy the sense of achievement it also brings to you personally.

Here at Rannerdale we like to think of our Veterans as someone that deserves respect, great care and above all else - quality of life. There was a time in NZ when residential clients were 'garaged' in rest homes or private hospitals.  This is no longer the case. We believe it is important that our clients and families are aware of the choices they have when it comes to caring for their loved ones. We offer an entire service here including a multi-disciplinary team of experts to ensure our clients receive the best care. Our team works hard to promote quality of life and independence.

We believe we can help our modern day Veterans as well as our cherished older Veterans to provide them with the best care possible. We want to give them nice surroundings, plenty of activities, mobility and independence.

But - we need the equipment to help us achieve our vision!

Rannerdale Veterans Hospital and Home was founded around 1920 for the benefit of veterans who had served in the British Forces prior to and during the Boer War of 1899-1902, and to care for those who returned from the Great War of 1914-1918. The original home was located on Papanui Road, in Christchurch (New Zealand), and was purchased by the National Patriotic Board, using money publicly donated to Patriotic Funds during the First World War.

We want to see the Veterans of NZ well taken care of and their families provided with the specialist support care we have to offer.

Rannerdale Veterans Care is a not for profit organization with the mission of  providing care for the wider veteran community including those who have served in the military and / or civilian emergency services as well as their families and dependents.

We accept and welcome all new residents into our residential facility. In addition to the wider veteran community, we also accept men and women who have not had any association with the veteran community or armed services, but who are keen to experience our caring ethos of compassion, commitment to caring, and integrity in all we do.

Our aim is to provide a high standard of both residential high level hospital care including palliative and restorative rehabilitation care, as well as rest home care.

We are currently building a new 10-bedded Hospital Wing specialising in providing hospital level care for Veterans and this will be completed by August 2016.

While we are funding the building of the wing we are short on funding to fit it out.  We would like to see our Veterans able to have good quality beds and furniture as well as access to quality health & safety equipment.  This is to ensure their care is at a high standard while staying with us short or long term.
