About

Arthritis New Zealand Needs A Car

Project 2016-01-30 14:26:35 +1300

Did you know that there are 140 different forms of arthritis? and that over 620,000 New Zealanders are affected by the chronic health condition?! This means chances are, even if you don't have arthritis you probably know somebody that does.

Because Arthritis New Zealand is a charity we can’t rely on tax payer’s money; this makes the money we do receive far more meaningful as chances are we have had to work hard for it. 87% of the donations we receive comes from everyday people like yourselves who choose to support us in helping tens of thousands of people throughout the country every year.

Although as we mentioned earlier arthritis affects hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders its largely an invisible disease. This makes raising the awareness that much harder. But with an aging population and the prevalence of autoimmune diseases that can lead to arthritis on the rise, our services are needed more now than ever.

As you can imagine on occasion things get tight, and we're faced with needing to find creative ways of raising funds to keep the organisation humming Similar to oiling a car, but we're getting to that.

To start 2016 off on a high, we need to raise some serious cash so our Wellington arthritis educators can get around the country and provide their services to those in need. Over the next 45 days we're looking to raise $20,000 to purchase a car so that our educators can keep delivering their services.
