Mordido Takes On Manchester : International Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition 2016
Project 2016-01-18 01:44:17 +1300
William Mordido is a young chef based in Auckland, and after winning the national finals of the La Chaine Des Rostisseurs in September last year, has earnt his place to represent NZ in Manchester, UK, to compete at the international finals. He has been a regular at regional, national and international level competitions since the age of 16. 7 years on, is about to take the biggest step in his culinary career as he competes against highly skilled chefs from all around the world.
La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs organises a cooking competition for young chefs under the age of 27, to encourage and promote the culinary expertise of young chefs in the tradition of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs by exposing them to a competitive environment with their peers. It offers the opportunity for chefs to showcase their talents and creativity in an international arena.
The international event is a "black box" competition, where the competitor does not know the ingredients he/she is to cook with until their arrival at the competition. They then have 30 minutes to write a menu, and three and a half hours to prepare a three-course dinner for four people.
All proceeds are greatly appreciated and will go towards accomodation, on-going training costs and airfares to send William Mordido, Roberto Manuel (mentor and boss) and Angie Wilson (former Hospitality teacher, current training and fundraising co-ordinator) to Manchester in the hopes of bringing back the gold!

Sorry for the late post! Been meaning to write this one up all week but been very busy organising a fundraiser dinner at work...and been trying to find the best photo to sum up how I'm feeling...
THANK YOU! To everyone who gave up their hard earned money and supported my Pledgeme campaign. WE DID IT!!! And even exceeded our target by $780!!!!
We are still in the process of fundraising but this is one hell of a giant leap towards getting to the end goal.
Thank you again to Julia Parnell and Amie Bentall from Notable Pictures for helping me out with campaign video and to everyone who 'shared' all my posts!! I am very grateful I have such a strong support system!!
Please keep an eye out for more fundraisers!!! We have a pub quiz in the making that is not to be missed!
