Our Story

Kia ora! 

At The Coffee Stand we have a sweet plan that’s going to revolutionise the way Kiwis get their coffee. 

How many times have you got up in the morning and found yourself out of coffee? It’s not a great feeling (and it’s definitely not a pretty sight for others). But with The Coffee Stand’s new subscription service, those grouchy, un-caffeinated mornings will soon be a thing of the past.

The Coffee Stand aims to be New Zealand’s premiere online coffee subscription service. You’ll never run out of coffee because it will be shipped straight to your door. Gone are the days where you have to make an emergency run to the nearest grocery store or café to get your caffeine fix – we’ll bring it to you instead! 

No other coffee company in the entire country makes subscription as a priority – but we do.

When we reach our monetary goal, we’ll begin offering three delicious blends of high-quality coffee to the public:

Lustre has classic caramel smoothness with a lively intensity. A lightly roasted, multi-origin blend with a dash of post-blended Brazil Yellow Diamond to achieve a well-balanced body. It’s an excellent black coffee option for filter, plunger or a lustrous (get it?) espresso. 

Mezzo is a mild, full-flavour blend that’s perfectly suited to a plunger and also makes a smooth espresso option. This medium-roasted coffee, sure to be a crowd favourite, is blended from a special selection of high altitude-grown coffee beans.

Essential is our espresso staple. It’s very popular with milk but just as flavoursome taken black. The Essential is the perfect balance of strength and flavour.

Our coffee is guaranteed fresh because it’s roasted to order. This means we don’t roast the beans until the last possible moment, at which point they’re sealed and shipped immediately. You can expect to have your coffee delivered at your door – and in your mug – within one to three working days after placing an order. Then every week, fortnight or month after that!

Signing up is easy. Head to our product page, select the blend you want and how often you want it. We offer weekly, fortnightly and monthly delivery options. The price depends on how much you want; 250g is $14 NZD, 500g is $28 NZD and 1kg is $48 NZD. You can order as much coffee as you think you need each month (but our smallest bags are 250g). 

The Impact

How much time and energy do you expend simply trying to get coffee? You have to go to the supermarket, stand in line… and for what? Usually, pretty average, stale coffee.  And you’ll be back in that line in no time. What a waste of time. Isn’t half the point of coffee to get more done in less time? 

Now you can save yourself the hassle and stay home. You’ll never run out of coffee and you’ll never have to make an emergency trip or an extra stop on the way to work. Coffee will be delivered to your door whenever you need it – consistently and reliably! It’s coffee on your schedule! 

What We Need & What You Get

We can’t wait to get this project underway, but it’s a massive undertaking and there’s still a lot of work to be done. We’ve selected an excellent company to get our gourmet coffee from, but there’s still so much more that is needed. We need to get physical materials such as coffee bags and coffee labels. Courier bags also need to be sourced, which are a necessity. We also need to hire a couple programmers to set up a website that is free from security vulnerabilities (a deceptively expensive cost). For all of this, we need to raise an achievable total of $1000.

Pledge to help and you’ll receive:

 $1000 and we’ll get in touch with our roasters and you can personally blend your own coffee, name it and we’ll stock it!

$250 means you big-spending coffee connoisseurs will get the chance to name one of our new blends. 

$100 will get you a kilogram of the blend of your choice and 50% off that can be used at any time.

$50 and you’ll receive 500g of coffee and a 30% discount voucher.

 $25 we will personally write you a thank you note and send it to you with a 250g bag of coffee!

$5 and we will give you a shout out, here and on social media! We’ll also buy you a beer.
