Viral Media Wakeboarding Project
Project 2015-10-18 14:57:00 +1300
Our Project is to use a wakeboarding winch to pull a rider across some remote and beautiful mountainous lakes in the southern alps, this will be documented with action cameras and a aerial drone camera we will then use the footage for promotional material and gain attention from future sponsors. First and foremost we have been in contact with the department of conservation to ensure this is actually legal and to get consent for use of a small, low emission petrol engine in a national reserve. Now of course the logistics of getting a winch into such a remote location and having a small amount of funding will give us access to a helicopter to air lift our winch into the location. Also, because these areas are protected we need to be very careful we do not leave any footprint. We are very proud and protective of our beautiful untouched country and we plan to only use the winch for a very short time to ensure we have a a minimal effect on the delicate environment and wildlife. Our team is composed of skilled wakeboarders, a safety advisor, camera crew and a winch operator so a maximum of 4 - 5 people. Because most of our equipment is already available our budget is very small and will only require a maximum of $1600 which will be mainly used to get our winch air lifted and removed from the remote location
