The New Zealand Centre for Science and Citizenship (NZCSC) is a small not for profit organisation that contributes valuable knowledge to a wide audience within the topic of ethics with a focus on real world implementation and its consequences. NZCSC provides ethics education seminars throughout New Zealand which incurs significant financial costs.

NZCSC is based in Dunedin but travels New Zealand delivering elthics seminars. NZCSC is currently funded by short term means such as donations. Because NZCSC is entering a growth phase that requires increased seminar activities funding levels and stability must also increase making short term funding options no longer suitable.

Seminars take place in diverse locations throughout New Zealand and encompass a wide variety of topics. The diverse locations in which the seminars take place contribute to the high financial cost and also require significant time investments from team members. With each additional seminar event NZCSC runs the operations costs increase significantly, which in turn increases the financial commitments that NZCSC is subjected to.

“Our mission is to cultivate and encourage ethical behaviour and critical thinking across different topics of science, technology and everyday life for both the young and the young at heart.”

“To promote the wellbeing of society by building on the intrinsic values of human nature; by improving the understanding of the world surrounding individuals and how their actions both good and bad can change this.”
