Broken Glass - Post Production
Project 2012-08-21 11:06:36 +1200
"Broken Glass" is a fantasy/drama short film about bullying and domestic violence shot between April and June in the Wellington region. After covering most of the post-production costs ourselves, we are fundraising the remaining amount needed to keep us from becomming homeless and complete the film in time for international festival deadlines in October.
12 year old Max Petersen is being bullied at school and has an abusive father at home, one day when playing alone in the woods he encounters a mysterious creature that soon changes his life forever.
The film has been endorsed by Shine; NZ"s largest domestic abuse charity organisation and Jigsaw; a network of 42 family and child protective services organisations around New Zealand. Once complete and screened at festivals, organisations like Shine will be permitted the use of the film for fundraisers.
The project is sponsored by family owned and operated Mojo Coffee and Rubber Monkey who provided the use of the RED Epic camera; also used to film blockbusters such as Prometheus and The Hobbit.
The film is written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Chaz Harris and stars Rhys Jennings, Rachel Roberts (Existence), Fiona Sutherland, Nathan Green, Chris Buckham, Joseph Demetriou, Landen Hale-Brown and Nick Blake (District 9/Home by Christmas/The Killian Curse).

"Broken Glass" will have its first and only screening for cast, crew and contributors in December at The Roxy Cinema in Miramar, Wellington. www.roxycinema.co.nz
