Drawing On Mindfulness - A Colouring Series Of New Zealand

- This book is the perfect mindfulness activity to draw on your creativity. Using your hands for a creative endeavour is a proven way to sooth anxiety and eliminate stress.
- Illustrations are by Cat Fawcett-Cornes (CatvsPencil) a popular and talented New Zealand illustrator and artist.
- 65 beautifully detailed pencil drawings are waiting for you to bring them to life with colour and to personalise them as your own.
- Each page has a blank backing so you can remove the illustrations and frame them. Or you may wish to keep the completed book as a treasured keepsake.
- Scattered through the book are short mindfulness quotes for you to read whilst colouring.
- This book makes a lovely gift for family and friends of all ages, living in New Zealand and overseas. It is the perfect activity to take away on holiday.
Who we are:
Maree and Cat are two Kiwi friends who enjoy creative pursuits. Cat is a talented NZ artist and Maree is an entrepreneur who has discovered the practice of mindfulness to help with managing the chaos of everyday life. Together they have created this colouring book that brings the natural beauty of New Zealand to you.
What are we trying to achieve?
Adult colouring in books are the fastest growing book genre in the world. Out of the top 25 selling books on Book Depository (a popular online book site), 14 are adult colouring in books. All successful books to date have been international, we want to create a book with illustrations based on the beauty of NZ's nature. We want to raise enough funds to complete the illustrations in our book and prepare it for an initial print run of 500. With the 500 books we plan to send some to you lovely Pledgers and also use some as samples to send to different retail outlets; book stores, tourist shops, toy shops, online shops and gift stores with the objective to get more orders. If this is a success we would like to produce more colouring series for you to enjoy.
A sneak peak at the book:
New Zealand’s natural beauty, stunning landscapes and exquisite flora and fauna make it the ideal subject for this colouring series.
This book is created with beautifully detailed pencil drawings and is waiting for you to bring them to life with colour.
Discover the joy of New Zealand’s many insects, birds, flowers and plants, through these stunning scenes and intricate patterns.
As you focus on colouring you will get lost in the majestic beauty of this world and will go on a journey of peace and tranquillity.

Thanks to everyone for your pledges so far, we have been blown away with people's responses to our project and it is exciting to see so many people wanting to support a creative NZ project!
We have 3 days to go and we still have $2.5k to raise, our deadline is 8pm this Sunday! The money that we need to raise equates to around 80 more books . So please share with your friends and family or pehaps consider making some additional pledges that will help us reach our goal - these books will make great gifts for young and old and Christmas isnt that far away!
There are also other ways you can help out:
- Pledge under $15 as a donation, every dollar counts!
- Pledge $100 and Cat will draw a commissioned piece for you, just send us a photo of a member of your family, a pet or even your favourite musician, these make a beautiful and unique keepsake and/or gift. (examples below)
- Pledge $120 and choose from 6 original drawings from the book, these will look amazing framed (3 left).

Thanks to everyone who has pledged and supported us to get this beautiful book printed! We have been overwhelmed with your support and to date we have raised over $5k. We have just under one month to go and need to raise another $10k - around 200 more pledgers, so please share our pledgeme page with your family and friends and/or please go to our page and order more rewards - otherwise this project won't happen and well that would be very sad!
Our book will be ready in time for Christmas, so get organised early and order! We have just added a new reward which would make the perfect gift or would look great framed - an A4 print that you can colour or leave as is for only $15.
