About

Send Shona Hammond Boys To World Children's Arts Olympiad

Project 2015-04-09 21:35:32 +1200

Shona Hammond Boys is the founder and director of the NZ Children's Art House Foundation Trust and she will present her novel and short film "Oku Moe Moea - The dream which is bigger than I am" at the Olympiad between 30 June and 4 July.  View the trailer here.

The Opotiki-based Shona will be accompanying as many as 30 children and adults from the small settlement of Kutarere on this amazing journey to Washington, where she will make her presentation and show the film, which will be presented to US President Barack Obama.

But, having spent all her money on writing and developing the movie, Shona now needs help to get herself to the US. This means paying about $3000 for air fares as well as accommodation which will mean a total of $5000 is required.  It is a big undertaking in such a short time but we hope you can support her.

Shona is celebrated for ability to help transform lives through art and creativity and she is offering top donors a day of her time in return for a $1000 donation.   A renowned artist, Shona has offered to make available works from her collection of paintings, at the next level of the pledges.

Whatever level you choose to pledge, we you will find the project worthy of your interest. The pledging time is short, however, as the air fares are required to be paid as soon as possible to access discounted fares.

Your pledges are gratefully received in advance.
