Switched on Bikes brings Electric Bike Hire and Guided Tours to Wellington.

 

We want to provide a fun, unique and green way to explore our capital city. eBikes are just like regular bikes but the electric assist gives you a good boost heading up Wellington's hills and helps you ride further. eBikes are so much fun to ride!  We've got five electric bikes that have been eating up Wellington's hills, but we need five more to be operating properly.

 

Switched on Bikes is being supported by the Smart Energy Challenge and the Wellington City Council, get this...

 

Every pledge that you make gets matched dollar-for-dollar by the Wellington City Council.

 

For those of you who support us at this early stage, we're offering extremely good value eBike hire and tours and memberships for locals. There are other fun rewards too. You could pledge for these for yourself or keep the voucher for when a friend visits Wellington.

 

Our eBike tours are going to be unique, fun and quirky- we reckon that 'Barry's Bus Tours' or 'Wendy's Walking Group' just doesn't cut it for the modern traveller. We're going to be telling wonderful tales of Cuba St, visiting the best cafes and checking out Wellington's craft beer breweries- sitting down for a pint once the riding is done.  eBikes also allow riders to get further than they thought possible- Miramar Peninsula to the South Coast, Brooklyn Wind Turbine and Zealandia are all within reach.

 

Switched on Bikes will support local initiatives that encourage more people to ride bikes and who advocate for better bike lanes in Wellington. eBikes are a realistic alternative to a commute by car and we'll be providing free eBike hire through community groups so people can 'try my bike'- we've already kicked this off by providing raffle prizes of eBike hire to Karori by Bike.

Hi all


Thanks for all your support so far and a massive shout out to everyone who came to the Smart Energy Challenge launch.
 
Things are going well, we keep getting great feedback from customers, our Date Packs are flying off the e-shelves, and we even got ourselves on the front of the Sunday Star Times Business Section last weekend. Phew!
 
We've only got 9 days to go, and we need just a bit more support, so if you can, please share our campaign with your friends and remind them that pledges gets match funded. So that $5 is actually $10 if we reach target! And reaching target means we get to buy 5 more awesome eBikes for you and your mates to play around on.
 
We have a new reward which is a 5 Trip 1/2 day eBike hire for only $99. That's less than 1/2 price and it doesn't expire. We also have the Smart Motion eBike up for grabs as a PledgeMe reward, so get in touch if you want to have a spin beforehand, its a real beauty to ride.
