About

The Blue Apron Collective

Project 2015-04-06 15:47:36 +1200

the baC aims to nurture and expose the young talent in our industry through pop up dining. Young & passionate perfectionists at heart!

In French kitchen tradition, apprentices wear blue aprons. Only once you are awarded the title of "Chef", are you allowed to wear a white apron.       At the blue apron Collective, we all consider ourselves "apprentices" in the context of food. We aim to hold on to the passion, curiosity, interest, hunger and blissful ignorance of the apprentice, and mould it into an approach towards learning and teaching about food and beverages!

The baC is not a concrete group of chefs or hospitality professionals, but more an open group or club for those willing to invest their resources to further their understanding of food and increase exposure to the public. Through pop up dining, rather than a fixed location, we will have the freedom and opportunity to stay open and flexible to creative possibilities for events. *(in the baC, the 'C' is always in caps, as it is the collective effort, collaboration and thinking, that is essential to creativity and perfection)

Through stages (unpaid internships in top kitchens), collaborations (with artists, researchers, charities, educators, restaurants and cafes), brainstorming sessions, "chef-club"s and pop ups we will aim to further our understanding of food and document our progress and findings to anyone interested.

the baC is an open collective with focus on transparency. Therefore all acquired knowledge will be open to anyone.
