Team Kiwi - ASC 300 Title Attempt

Project 2015-03-31 13:55:01 +1300

So here in NZ we have a diamond in the rough. A motorcycling renegade. Who is this you ask? Sam Davison is his name. And over achieving is his game. This year Sam has already secured his maiden New Zealand title. A 125GP championship. He then set his sights on the Australasian 300 Title. Off his own back he has travelled to Sydney to for the first round. It was a very eventful round of competition, with two crashes, that were not his doing, and several stand out rides. One of these stand out rides consisted of a last - fourth ride in the second race on Sunday which put him in position for his master stroke, a final race victory against the best Australia has to offer. But as with many talented riders investors want to be sure that off track they have a marketable engaging character. These words might as well be Sam's middle names.

Here is a quote from Michael McLinden ( the man whom Sam is hiring his Australian championship bike from)

"Mick McLinden here, Sam Davison rode one of our bikes to his first 2 race victories here in Australia this past weekend. In nearly 20 years of supporting young road racers, I believe that Sam is the most naturally talented rider I have had the privilege to work with. I'm not sure what his options are for the season as it seems due to financial constraints Sam is at this stage a round by round prospect. I don't quite get how a young man with the talent of Sam has to self fund The New Zealand attack on our Ninja 300 title. As mentioned earlier I have worked with young riders for 20 years, several of these have gone on to be Australian champions and had international success, none of them in my opinion had Sam's talent. Please let me know how I can help to get Sam the support he so richly deserves."

Another Australian team spokesperson

"Sam comes across as a well mannered, polite young man who can really, really ride."

This is really just further confirmation of what we already knew.

Sam has asked me to manage seeing he gets the support he deserves for his attempt on becoming an Australasian Champion.

Here is what I aim to achieve for Sam with your generous support:

  • $5-6000 worth of pure financial support  to be used for covering bike lease, travel expences, accomodation, motorcycle consumables and any crash damage. This amount will not cover his costs fully by some margin but would mean that he can attend all the rounds and puts him in the best possible position to do a decent job of it.
  • Some pit signage (either a canvas drop or pull up signage)
  • Apparell. Pit shirts, caps etc.

*These are the objectives, flexibility may be required to work around exsisting sponsors of the owning and involved parties in Australia*

My aim is to outlay what level of support will give you what level of signage on the pit, bike and apparell (subject to discussion and flexibility within the bounds of common sense).

I also aim to attend the June 26th-28th round in Sydney and produce a video diary of Sam in action featuring behind the scenes stuff and to give back to those that believe in this outstanding young man. Also I am going to give Sam a camera to use for post race updates which will be posted online via his facebook page to keep you up to date with what he is doing.

So the total desired budget is $6000. If you can help with material objects such as apparell or signage this would be greatly appreciated.
