Cooking Up A Song Album

I'm Anna van Riel a singer/songwriter from Lake Hawea, New Zealand and I'm creating a 12 track children's album full of fun and interactive songs for babies up to the age of seven.
The first seven years are of vital importance to a child. In this phase, and at a very rapid pace, children master the skills of movement, speech, gesture, verbal and non-verbal communication, uprightness and many others. Most of this is learnt through imitation — the young child mimics everything from physical movements through to attitudes & values.

The album will be a collection of my own original songs that have been extremely popular amongst my young audiences over the past 15 years of performing for children.
As you can see I'm aiming for a rather large sum of money - $10,000 to be exact. This will cover the cost of studio time, engineering, mixing & mastering, photography, graphic design, manufacturing, rewards and promotion of the album once it's complete. PledgeMe is an all or nothing site so if I don't get the the full amount I'll receive nothing. So the goal is to share this campaign with as many people as possible to ensure we reach the target!

As in independent artist this is a project I am excited to undertake, but also as a mother of two and chairman of our playgroup in Hawea the need for children’s music has become more apparent to me.
Many of the songs have actions so I will also create a songbook that will include the lyrics, actions and ways for parents to interact with their children, including tiny babies.

It's all over 9pm tonight!
Thank you so much to those of you who have made a contribution towards my children's album - it is so close to becoming a reality thanks to your support!
There has been an amazing influx of pledges today so I have my fingers crossed that there are still a few more people out there after physical copies or some of the other rewards I have on offer. Check out the new Mums and Bubs Pack that was just added or the Early Childhood Resource Kit.

Firstly thank you so much to everyone who has made a contribution towards the album. We're 18% of the way and have 27 days to raise the rest!
In case you don't follow my updates on Facebook - below is a photo from our pinny making session for the Baking Pack rewards.
In order to spread the word of the campaign I will be hosting a Kindergarten tour in Wanaka and Hawea next week. Each mini concert will focus on actions, singing and dancing and I encourage parents to come along as the album has a focus on parent interaction and offers clever tips in the album booklet on ways for parents to engage musically with their kids.
