Kids' Reserve Relocation

Project 2015-02-09 20:57:01 +1300

“Kids’ Reserve” is a wonderful crèche that has operated in the Reserve Bank of New Zealand for over 20 years. Without any previous advertising, it has been extremely popular with staff of the Reserve Bank and other public sector agencies. The Wellington public has snapped up any spare spaces and there has always been a waiting list. Kids' Reserve has received glowing reviews from the Ministry of Education.

In 2014, the Reserve Bank decided not to renew the crèche’s lease as part of a general increase in its security measures. The crèche's staff, its management committee and the wider community resolved to continue the crèche at a new location as the service is so valued and the staff are so great! Since then much effort and planning have gone into finding a suitable premise and ensuring the ongoing viability of the crèche.

Very recently, there was positive news for Kids' Reserve as a great new premise is lined up to be its next home.

The new location is in Thorndon, very close to the Thorndon New World Molesworth Street entrance. It’s convenient to the train station, bus depot, and a range of northern CBD businesses and agencies. It’s safe – on the ground floor in a building with a high earthquake safety rating (106% of code), good fire exits, and in a quiet and low-traffic area for drop off and pick up of kids. Please contact Rosemary at Kids' Reserve ([email protected]) for further details about the location.

Pledges to this campaign are primarily to cover the costs arising from the resource and building consent process for the move, and secondly to purchase new outdoor play equipment.

Time and money are both going to be tight! Please pledge generously!!

Thank you
