About

Fort Blaze

Project 2012-06-18 04:15:01 +1200

We've created a collective of young, intelligent, independent and talented women to form Fort Blaze.

With a range of female directors, models, actors, artists, photographers and musicians, our plan is to create a website, showcasing our skills. Hopefully we'll be able to create more awareness of these types of talented women in a very "hard to crack into" industry and become mentors for young girls wanting to start a career in the creative industry.

What will you do with the money?

We're wanting to build an awesome website that profiles each of our girls, so you can read about them, what they're doing and contact them too for any work you might have for them or just to ask any questions.

We'd also like a little funding to be able to market our brand, posters, stickers, merchandise, etc!

And on top of all of this, we would also love to have a bit of starting money to establish our mentorship program which we think will be a very very positive thing for the community.

Who are the members of Fort. Blaze?

The girls identities will be revealed on the day of the website launch. We can promise you that they are all incredibly awesome and very special.

These are social, intelligent, hardworking girls and are maybe the coolest and most genuine people you'll ever meet! You won't be disappointed.

Why start this collective?

After several years working, I noticed how hard women worked in this industry and how difficult it can be to break in. Meeting so many talented people on the way, I realised that some of the most creative and intelligent women found it very hard to get jobs and recognised for their achievements. Fortunately in my case, at the beginning, I had incredibly strong supportive women who had been in this industry for decades - to give me advice on how to get through. Sadly, this kind of access is rare and most women find themselves alone with no guidance.

I decided to form Fort Blaze on these reasons, gathering several special people to join, we've created a strong group of women who are very very good at what they do in their careers. And with this supportive group we can find jobs for one another, help each other out with any future projects and mentoring young girls to achieve their goals too.

Forming this collective will create so many opportunities for us and future women in the industry.
