About

World Debut: "Pacific Hibiscus" & "Maui And Sina"

Project 2014-10-19 13:51:27 +1300

Why you?

I'm looking for some mighty incredible people to join me in indie publishing 2 world debuting books "Pacific Hibiscus" (poems) and "Maui and Sina" (play). As a writer, artist and educator, I'd love for you to join me in making history. In return, I have some wonderful rewards for you and the $ would pay for the cover designs, production and printing costs for the special limited editions.

Why me?

I love things Pacific. I'm a busy mum, educator, artist and I love to inspire and encourage through my writing/art. In "Pacific Hibiscus" my poems explore themes about my NZ Samoan culture in South Auckland etc. and "Maui and Sina" was my first play that was an instant success in Otara. As a comic tragedy it has Pacific humour and explores parent/child relationships.

Why books?

I love writing and am now ready to indie pubish the first collections of my works. I have a Masters in Creative writing (AUT University) and I'm an active educator with experience in Early childhood education through to tertiary at University/Wananga levels. I love writing for youth/adults in NZ high schools and universities but also internationally, writing stories about family experiences.

Why write?

I write to inspire and encourage people to overcome and pass on knowledge to our next generations. I take my readers on journeys that challenge and encourage them to experience different life stories and cultures. I want to help readers to experience success in their lives in negotiating pathways that leave indelible memories with a legacy for future generations to enjoy.

Why share?

The two books feature my original acrylics artwork and I'd love to share my writing journey anticipating exciting times ahead. Any leftover monies will be used for a book launch. I hope that pledgers will reap more rewards than sown and feel free to share. I welcome your comments and encourage that if you have a dream - just go for it. There is no time like the present.
