Hi there and thank you for visiting my PledgeMe page!
I have just been endorsed to compete at the Life Saving World Interclub Championships this year, which kicks off on the 22nd of September.
In March I was selected in the New Zealand World Championships Squad. I was privileged to be a part of the preparation for the World Cup defence, but wasn’t selected in the final team. I am now travelling over to represent my club at the Interclub competition.
To be in peak condition for Worlds, I need to focus my time and energy on my training and preparation. I will then spend two weeks adapting myself to the sands of La Grande Motte before taking on the world.
This is where you guys come in – I need help funding my campaign to win a World title. If I reach my target it will allow me to focus on my preparation over the next two months,so that I can have no regrets when I step up to the line in France.
[Every dollar helps my cause - we set a modest target to make sure we could achieve it, but the more I can raise the better prepared I will be going into World Champs. Anything raised in excess of what I need for Worlds I will use towards preparation for the New Zealand selection events this summer.]
There are a number of costs involved in living and training and then racing in France. These costs include travel, car rental, petrol, accommodation, treatment and food. Without your support it’s going to be a struggle to pull this off!
I grew up in Palmerston North, and started my Surf Life Saving career as a nipper at Riversdale Beach SLSC in 2004.The support I have received over the years from my small club and the community of Riversdale Beach, as well as from friends and family, has been humbling. It has taken a lot of time and sacrifice to make it to where I am today, and I am hungry to make the most of it. Of all the years I have dedicated to this sport, 2014 is without a doubt the most critical and important of them all.
Thank you so much for your support and for being a part of my team!
