About

As We Enter

Project 2014-04-22 14:51:52 +1200

A new work by Slave Labour Productions coming to BATS Theatre from June 17th - 21st.

"What happens on tour stays on tour, right?"

Not today.

Join Slave Labour Productions (Stages of Fear, Citizen Gef) as they explore
what it is that makes the big 'O.E' so enticing?

Inspired from interviews with recent Kiwi back-packers, these are the true and unfiltered accounts of
what really happens on Contiki, Topdeck, Kiwi experience tours etc.

Simon, from the land of the flightless bird, is leaving the nest for the first time.

But not without his own 'baggage'.

As We Enter is a show for those of us who have ever questioned our own identity.

It's a work that explores why the concept of the 'O.E' is so ingrained in our culture.

We're seeking Pledgemes support in sourcing $1000 so we can market this show effectively around Wellington (via Phantom Poster runs, flyer printing etc) as well as providing the extra icing on the cake  in sourcing props and materials to make this show look beautiful.

We have scenes set all over Europe including Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and Greece - and with your support, we can source matierals that help make each scene unique to the country in which it's set.

Who are Slave Labour Productions?

SLP is a Wellington based Film and Theatre company committed to making new works that are
personal, relevent and engaging to the modern day theatre audiences.

With three succesful shows under our belt as well as our continued desire to learn from what we make, As We Enter is our most personal and relateable work yet.

As We Enter is directed by 1 time Chapman Tripp award attendee Chris Swney, and produced by mutli award show watchers Bronwyn Cheyne and Jess Old.
