Send Invader Sin & Hellucino Jen To TGSS!!
Project 2014-04-09 12:30:22 +1200
The Great Southern Slam is happening in June 2014 - that is only 2 weeks away!
This year, Invader Sin, current Head of NSOs for the New Zealand Roller Derby Association, is headed over to join the fun and will be joined by Derby Wife and best friend, Hellucino Jen.
Invader Sin has been officiating for 2 years since she discovered Roller Derby and moved to Wellington, she has been fortunate enough to officiate for leagues around NZ including as part of the NSO crew for NZ's first WFTDA Sanctioned bout!
Her Game History includes 30 bouts, 5 of these have been WFTDA Regulation and Sanctioned, 3 of these as Game HNSO. She has been fortunate enough to be a Crew HNSO at the Swamp City Derby Royale for the last 2 events.
'Sin's passion for the sport has taken her across the country to train other officials and officiate WFTDA and MRDA bouts for other leagues.
Her goal is to get WFTDA Certification and officiate at the WFTDA BIG 7. After attending her first WFTDA Clinic (working with Intejill & Knot Richie), the next step is to get international experience - that is where TGSS comes in.
Roller Derby is the fastest growing sport world-wide with 26 teams in NZ and counting! To keep up with demand and to get NZ leagues to the same standard as the US and Europe, not only does the level of play improve, so does the skill level of the officials.
As a member of the Officials Management Committee for the NZRDA, Sin envisions kiwi officiating taking giant leaps and bounds as more Officials strive for WFTDA or MRDA certification and international officiating experience.
Hellucino Jen has been officiating for over 2 years after starting Freshmeat training with Hawkes Bay Roller Derby. She moved to Wellington after travelling to every home season bout in Wellington.
Being one of the top NSOs in Wellington, Jen has been helping Sin with training clinics as well as travelling the North Island to officiate bouts with various NZ Leagues.
Jens Resume is more robust than Sins now, with 8 WFTDA Regulation and Sanctioned bouts and numberous MRDA bouts as well as 2 National Tournaments.
Jen has started her journey as a referee too, but still makes the most of NSO oppurtunties. She was invited to join the TGSS Officiating crew recently.
So lets get these two awesome NSOs over to TGSS in just 2 weeks for the first of their many overseas adventures!

Huge thanks to my Aunty, Daisy Pain and Queen Slamidala for their pledges!
You ladies rock my world!!
Ladys Emporium has offered to donate a tote bag (Black and White) and a customised fill circle ('rock'n'roll') skirt. So Lady Sin took this as a challenge and has added a signed A4 photo of herself. To that end, I have an NSO shirt that I am keen to find a new home for, so this has been added to the pool.
Raffle tickets will be $2 each (3 for $5) and available from next week online :)
As more things are donated, I will post updates for you :)

Congratulations to Whakatane Roller Derby League who have been gifted the first NSO Clinic with Invader Sin and Hellucino Jen.
The Clinic was pledged by Nonna Bones (aka Mama Sin) and generously donated to WRDL as Nonna Bones doesn't belong to a league (Don't worry, she will soon)
Thanks Nonna Bones for this awesome gift to WRDL! The ladies are very excited for their Officials Clinic.
