HELP GET RICHTER CITY ROLLER DERBY ALL STAR TEAM TO

THE GREAT SOUTHERN SLAM!

Project Description:

For the first time Richter City Roller Derby League has been invited to compete at the largest roller derby tournament in the southern hemisphere – The Great Southern Slam in Adelaide in June this year, but not just that, we've been invited to compete in the first division!

This is huge for us! After winning all but one game last year this is an opportunity for us to play against some of the world’s best skaters and really put our training to the test.

It’s also a massive and expensive mission sending a squad of up to 20 to the tournament clocking in close to $20,000 all up. We’re asking you to help us just a little bit here and get some sweet rewards in return.

Please help us! Every little bit will go directly to covering the costs of this trip and getting a streak of the capitals purple and orange on those Aussie tracks.

Rostered for the team are some of your favourite Wellington skaters and some new exciting faces:

Tuff Bikkies

Bubble O’Kill

J’Knee Dodgem

Libby Callander

Suffer Jet

Mawhero Mischief

Frankenpain

Ana Pave-U’Ova

Skanda Lass

Princess Slayer

Beatrix Kiddo

Jem Molition

Ella Kazam (Captain)

And new transfer from Melbourne, Tino TurnHer!

With more to be announced!

You can check out the team in action when they take on Auckland's Pirate City Rollers on home turf and the Gold Coast's Paradise City in a triple header at Wellington's TSB Arena on 10 May!

WE DID IT! We've made the target thanks to you!

AND...

Richter City played two stellar games on the weekend beating Auckland's Pirates by just 5 points and reclaiming their spot at the top of the NZ rankings and also taking on and beating the Gold Coast's Paradise City notching them up to number 8 in the whole of the pacific!

We can't wait to see what they can do in Australia at the Great Southern Slam and Adelaide just got even closer now we've reached our Pledge Me target! Don't forget we're allowed to go over $2000 and with the trip costing close to $20,000 every $ is a big one.

Thank you so much for helping us, we really couldn't do it without you. Really.

With games at 3pm, 5pm and 7pm it's going to be a full on fun day. Richter City's All Stars will face Auckland nemesis the Pirate City Rollers and all the way from the Gold Coast and featuring ex-Richter City Brutal Pageant skater Goldie Scorn is Paradise City Rollers.

We can't wait. And we've lined up some incredible prizes for our raffles tomorrow too so make sure you get along and support the gals. We sure do appreciate it.

NEARLY HALF WAY TO ADELAIDE!

02/05/2014 at 4:02 PM

Thank you so much! We're nearly half way to our goal and with just 10 days left we'll be working hard to get there.

And look, even when we're sweaty from training hard we're thinking of you:

thanks

Remember last year when we were the first NZ league to beat Auckland's Pirates ever?

Here's a link to a stuff.co.nz article on Richter City last year ahead of our historic win over Auckland Pirate City Rollers. What an incredible game that was! The article includes some training footage of RCRD.

And you can rest assured we haven't been resting since either, we're working up a sweat on skates four times a week in preparation for Adelaide, not to mention all the off skates training in the mix.

Thanks for helping us get there!
