Reggie's Case Files is a webseries which follows the mildly psychotic private investigator who thinks he's in a classic noir thriller. We will follow him on his cases, ranging from domestic drama to in-depth character profiling, as he verbally narrates his life and belittles the people he encounters. We will explore classic noir tropes such as femme fatales, corrupt officials, and mysterious missing persons cases. The content will draw humour from people's angry and sometimes violent reactions to his unfiltered stream of consciousness.

Pirate vs. Cowboy Productions is a Wellington based team consisting of Director Jonno, Writer Lex, and Cinematographer Jesse. We have over a decade of experience in visual storytelling, including short films, documentaries, theatre, and so on. We're creative, imaginative, skilled, and resourceful. We just need a small amount of financing to fully realize this project. 

Our $4000 budget divides into four main categories:

• Lighting—bold and expressionistic—is essential in creating the appropriate atmosphere of film noir. This is why a significant portion of our budget will go towards a set of versatile lighting equipment.
• Sound is an integral part of the concept of this series, and as such, we are going to spend a fair portion of our budget on good sound recording equipment so as to give Reggie's narration the clarity it calls for.
• Set dressing and costuming are vital aspects of creating a visually engaging world for Reggie to live in. By putting a considerable amount into costuming, set dressing, and location expenses, we will boost production value to a higher standard than a typical low budget series.
• Other production expenses include payment for cast and crew, visual effects work, and having a composer create a musical score for the series.

If we manage to raise over $7500 dollars, we'll expand the season from 10 episodes to 13, and boost the production value in costuming, set design, and other in other areas as we see fit. We chose a small number of additional episodes because we want to raise the standard of quality over the whole season, rather than aiming for quantity over quality.

We don't intend to make a profit from this PledgeMe campaign as we'll be putting all of the money we raise straight into the project, as well as our own money. Our reward will be getting to make an excellent webseries which we can be proud of. On the other hand, your rewards for pledging range from the practical to the fashionable.

The backer rewards are as follows:

• $5 - Gratitude
  You won't get a tangible reward for pledging $5, but you'll still get to watch the series for free online anyway.
  
  
• $10 - A 'Thank You' Credit
  For pledging $10, we'll thank you in the credits of the final episode of the season. (All higher pledges recieve this reward.)
  
  
• $30 - High Quality Video Downloads
  This is the recommended pledge. For $30, you'll get to download the episodes in a higher quality than the free streaming videos. (All higher pledges recieve this reward too.)
  
  
• $75 - Storyboards and Scripts
  For $75, we'll give you a printed copy of the storyboards and scripts, all matched up to show how we visualized the series in pre-production.
  
  
• $150 - The Book of Scripts (limited to 10)
  For $150, we'll hand-type the scripts from every episode, bind them together into a single book, then sign and send them to you.
  
  
• $150 - Fedora (limited to 1)
  Reggie's fedora is an essential piece of his identity, which is why he signs his name in it. For $150, it can be yours.
  
  
• $250 - Name a Character (limited to 8)
  We have eight characters throughout the story in need of names. For $250, the privilege of naming one of them can be yours. You could name someone after yourself, after a loved one, or even after someone you loathe if the character is unflattering. Perhaps you want to pay respect to a classic noir figure by naming one of our characters after them, such as Mike, Sam, or Harry. Suggestions for names should be within reason, so nothing unduly obscene will be accepted. Probably. Furthermore, each person who gets to name a character will be appropriately credited in their character's episode, and at the end of the season, everyone who named a character will get a section dedicated to them in the grand end credits.
  
  
• $500 - Trench Coat (limited to 1)
  Trench coats are the iconic attire of private investigators throughout classic noir history. For $500, you can buy the coat off Reggie's back, signed by the cast and crew. Additionally, you will recieve Reggie's personal shooting scripts, complete with any notes he may make. These will also be signed.

(All physical rewards include free postage within New Zealand.)

Furthermore, PvC Productions is not limited to this one project. We are currently working on another webseries, along with numerous other video shorts. The money we raise in this campaign will go towards Reggie's Case Files, but the equipment we buy will be put to use in our other work too. All of our work will be free to watch online.
