Help Young People Get Good Done At Seaweek!?

Project 2014-02-05 18:45:14 +1300

Hi, we are Jenna and Annalise from Boom!

Boom provides a pathway for young people to make impact. We work with 13-18 year olds to co-create events and campaigns to address causes that young people care about.

Boom is running an event for Seaweek at Silo Park on 2nd March called Drop-a-line for Seaweek. It is a competition where young people can submit a song, rap or poem about their connection to the coast and in theme with the oceans fragility.

All entries will be in the draw to win some great prizes including a Vodafone tablet, AJ Hackett bungy, recording time at a studio and the top entries will get to perform at Boom's acoustic Soundshell on the 2nd March in front of thousands.

What we’ve found is that by giving people opportunities to talk about their love for something, they inherently take ownership and begin to protect it.

We have been given an awesome space but unfortunately, as a new business, we have very little funds to get this event off the ground.

We need your help to raise $2,500 to cover the base costs for the event and to see young people utilising their motivation and energy for good.

We would be so grateful for your support and want to thank you in advance for believing in our dream to see all young New Zealanders actively engaging in the causes they care about in a fun and creative way.

Drop-a-line for Seaweek launched on 27th January so make sure to check out and like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/boomgetgooddone or email us at [email protected] for more information.

Thank you all so much!
