About

Friends Of Addington Action Thank Mike And Tracy

Project 2014-01-02 21:42:22 +1300

Friends of Addington Action want to raise funds to thank Mike Peters for his voluntary work for the community for over 1000 days (nearly three years) since the earthquakes of 22 February 2011.

Mike began Addington Action the following day (see http://www.addingtonaction.org.nz/2011/02/day-1-making-plan.html for his plan on day one).  He resigned from his role as Organiser at the end of October 2013 and has continued to support the organisation as closes down and at the same time as he has supported CSFVC (the Chch South Fruit and Vege Coop) to establish itself permanently. The video clips on YouTube are worth a look too.

Mike is now returning to his home town (Invercargill) and to his own career as an artist.  Friends of Addington Action knows that if each person who has been helped by or learned from Addington Action gives a small donation then we will reach our target.  We want to thank Mike and Tracy for their unaid work and also to help cover some of the unexpected costs that came their way during their time working in Addington Action.

See the Addington Action Blog http://www.addingtonaction.org.nz for details and photographs of the various activities that brought people together to work on various earthquake related projects including initial recovery from the quakes, 0800HUNGRY, support for elderly and sick residents, repair of houses for the uninsured, and establishing CSFVC.

Any donations over the target ($2000) will also go to the Peters Family - 1000 days of service to our community is worth a lot.
