CCT Variety Concert 2013

We are a not-for-profit charitable trust that supports adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorders in Otago and Southland to live as participating and valued members of their communities. We recognise that all people are different therefore should be respected and supported as individuals.
My roles within CCT include Recreation Coordinator and support worker. This year I have taken on the responisbility of running the CCT drama group. I have had a lot of experience working with dancers with disabilities but this year has been a new challenge for me working with actors with disabilities.
Every year the Community Care Trust puts on a variety concert. This is a platform for people and staff to display their talents, whether it is singing, playing an instrument, dancing or telling jokes. The CCT drama group also performs a short play that they have been working on all year. This year the drama group wrote their own play, it is a comedy about a woman called 'Georgia' who is having a really bad day!
The variety concert is free and open to the community to attend. We need to raise money to pay for the venue hire, equipment hire and costumes.
