Don’t give me love, don’t give me faith, wisdom nor pride - give innocence instead.”

What is it?

'On the Morrow' is a short film project from the recently graduated Crew 25 of Wellington's 'Film School'.

What is it About?

The Film itself is a Fantasy/Drama about Walt, an old man who, disillusioned with adult life, runs away to try and find a mysterious forest he played in as a child.

Drawing on inspiration from the stories of Ray Bradbury and the art of Brian Froud, 'On the Morrow' will be a nuanced, ethereal and, ultimately, touching faery-tale for young and old alike.

How it Will Look

Visually the film will be divide into two parts.

The first part (Scenes 1-3), set in Walt's house at noon, will be shot with an amber coloured lighting and thick noir-esque shadows.

The second part (Scene 4 onwards), set in the forest at night, will have a soft moonlight-esque lighting of a deep blue colour.

The two halves will also be filmed in soft focus with a majority of the shots being static. These creative decisions are so in order to capture the ethereality and deceptive simplicity of the story and script.

The Team

So far, the team consists of Luke Bonjers, debuting as the Director, Writer and Producer; Cameron Brown, debuting as the Director of Photography and Brittany Connell as the First Assistant Director and Production Manager. All three are graduates of the 'Film School' and have had practical experience on the film set (including the graduation films 'Entropy' & 'Birdsong', as well the pick-up shooting for 'What we do in the Shadows'). In additon, we have Marketing Graduate, Travis Hoani as Promotion Advisor.
