Forever Young (Short Film)

Project 2013-09-15 23:09:34 +1200

Have you lost someone? Too soon? Too hard? This film's for you.

If you could be young forever, would you? well, there's only one way but you probably wouldn't choose it.

Forever Young is a short film that explores what happens to those left behind when someone dies young. It looks at the questions: How do we deal with death? How do we deal with a life taken too soon and too suddenly? How do we survive a loss that seems too big to handle?

Forever Young follows Hope, an ICU nurse, who deals with death on a daily basis. She gets by and in fact excels at her job because she detaches herself from her patients, their families and the death that ultimately follows. Some people thinks she's a clinical 'Ice-Queen' but they can't dispute that - bar her good-humored, popular boss - Hope's the best and will probably run the unit one day. Her cold facade is threatened when she meets a vibrant, young but seriously ill patient, who isn't put off by her cold demeanor. Hope makes it her mission to save this patient but saving her means breaking the rules. Her rule-breaking comes to a head on 13-09-13 when a family death comes back to haunt Hope.
