Little Town Liars REVIVAL
Project 2013-08-03 05:46:58 +1200
After a sell-out season, rave reviews, and winning
"Best Ensemble" at the 2013 NZ Fringe Festival Awards, the loveable (and terrifyingly unstable) residents of that small town in the deep south of Louisiana are back with a vengeance, y'all!
Selected as a "Pick of the Fringe", Little Town Liars is being revived this September on the Downstage stage and we cannot wait! However, to do this, we need a little bit of extra help from all those that saw it and loved it, didn't see it and loved it, or didn't see it and want to love it.
This is a HUGE opportunity to develop the show in many aspects. Fortunately, we have kept a fair bit of our get-up from last time, so we are just looking to spice it up a notch. We want our pumpkin pies even pumpkinier, our horn-rimmed glasses even hornier, our fake aliens even aliener, and our herbal pills even herbier! All funds raised will go towards hiring rehearsal space, tszujing (yes, that is how it's spelt) up the costumes and the set, 1000 litres of hairspray for Billy's greaser hair-do, publicity, as well as a few extra splashes of fabulous we are adding to the show for your pleasure.
Thank you to everyone who has already supported the development of this show from its very beginnings.Thank you again, in advance, to everyone who continues to help us grow as a company and make this the best goddamn musical about kids taking drugs and pretending they were abducted by aliens in a small, 1950's American town. Fresh Dada loves you all!
"Witty, bouncy lyrics and catchy tunes, along with taut and crisp dialogue, coupled with excellent period costumes, makes this show an hour of high octane energy that never misses a beat." - Ewan Coleman, Dominion Post
"The lyrics are insanely clever, the cast wickedly good both performing and singing bless their cotton socks, the story is a hoot and the music is damn fine." - Lynn Freeman, Capital Times
"This high standard of performance is reflected in every aspect of the production." - Michael Gilchrist, Theatreview
