Renee and Ruby are taking an incredible true NZ story and telling it to the world! Nick: An accidental hero is a one-woman play based on a true story about legend Nick Chisholm.
Nick suffered a stroke on the rugby field at just 27 years old. He was left with a condition known as "locked in syndrome" and was given 6 months to live. Thirteen years later, he's not just alive, he's thriving! He recovered beyond anyone's wildest dreams, then fell in love with an English rose who moved to NZ to be with him.
This is an incredible story of courage and determination and love. With the blessing of Nick, his lovely fiancee Nicola and all those that know and love them (plus an invitation from the Fringe) - Renee and Ruby are off to tell it on an international stage!
But we need your help.
We have been partially supported by the wonderful CNZ and have held a fundraising event for the trip but there is still a shortfall. Ruby, the technician for the show, needs accommodation guys! We need a projector, we need flyers and most importantly.... We need a snow machine! Hiring all these for the entire month of the Fringe is proving to be much more costly than anticipated.
The budget for accommodation, projector & snow machine hire and publicity fliers is $3000. We need to raise this in a very short time - the 23rd July! So please, if you could help with even the smallest donation or by sharing this round all your mates, we would be very grateful.
Get us to the UK!
