My Vinyl Record Project

Project 2013-07-01 01:21:46 +1200

My name is Jay Hollows. I am an Auckland based sound and video artist, making works that reflect our interest in popular culture, particularly, music and cinema.

I would like you to be part of my vinyl record project.

You can... Buy a silk screen tote bag or t-shirt. Be part of a record release party. Buy an original vinyl record.

It’s been interesting to watch the rise and fall and rise again of vinyl as a way to listen to music. A record changes and grows just like its user. Every click and pop a record gathers is a testament of the relationship that is formed between the owner and the object (the record). It’s that idea of change that I am interested in, and have applied to some Silk Screen Record T-shirts I've made for a performance event that I would like you to be part of.

The T-shirts are design to be played , no T – Shirt will play the same, as you wear it, and wash and wear it again, it will change, just like a record changes every time you play it.

There are three aspects to this projec

1. Providing my audience with quality silk screen t-shirt (ft, 12" record Image).

2. Invite those who buy the Tees to an album release party (including the making of a video performance)

 3. All pledger will be offered the chance to buy a 12" vinyl record (including the plywood record cover a reduce cost)

Costings T-Shirts and Inks $1500 Vinyl Pressing $2000 Ply Wood Covers $1000
