Je suis Kat, je suis creatrice de mode.
Hello! I'm Kat, a freelance costume designer and creator, and in August of this year I am winging my way to Paris, to pursue my dream of creating costumes for a world-class Cabaret!
Armed with my portfolio, and the tools of my trade, I will be volunteering at various theaters to gain valuable work experience which, fingers crossed, will lead to a permanent position in wardrobe and costume.
I'm just a small team of one, and will be working as an Au Pair to get myself started in the city of light. To make my work and travels in France more enjoyable, I will be studying the French language and culture, attending classes twice a week for 3 hours at a time.
My work as an Au Pair will help me to get by, but after flights, insurance and visa costs I need to save, beg or borrow to raise funds to help pay for my French classes, which have a total cost of $995.00 Euro for a year, approx $1,586.67 NZ.
And that's where your help will be hugely appreciated! No pledge is too small, every little bit will help me on my way to achieving my dream of working in theater in Paris!

Well, its almost fly time!
A massive massive thank you to everyone who has shown support and encouragement, it means a lot to know you have a great team of people behind you!

It's official, as of today, I have exactly 3 weeks to go until I fly out of NZ! Thank you so much to all the amazing people who have felt as excited about my project as I have! There are still a few days to go until my PledgeMe drive finishes, so do spread the word!

Only one week after my trip to Wellington to apply for my Visa, I had a little package in the post box stamped Embassy of France! All the official documents are done! which is nice, as my flight date seems a lot closer from this side of the 4 week mark...
