What do the Awards do?
The Awards honour outstanding examples of plain English. Public- or private-sector organisations can enter their documents or websites. Anyone can nominate documents for the People's Choice Best Plain English Communication or Worst 'Brainstrain' Communication. Independent, international panels of plain English experts and advocates judge the entries. Why have the Awards?
The Awards aim to:- improve government and business documents so that all New Zealanders can understand them
- raise public awareness of the need for, and benefits of, plain English
- and create a public preference for organisations that choose to communicate in plain English.

Thank you to the wonderful people who have already pledged. We have a few more pledges to go, so pull out that credit card and help make the Awards a reality this year!
