I have the opportunity to travel to Thailand and Laos in December 2014, but if I can't raise the money to go, it will be postponed until 2015, so the fundraising starts now! 

This is the experience of a lifetime, consisting of a community project  in which I will be contributing practically to the local community, in either a humanitarian or conservational area.  In the past, other students have worked in schools, orphanages and animal sanctuaries; creating buildings, teaching english, cooking and care taking.  At the end of this interaction we also make a cash donation to the community. There is also a physical challenge, during which we will trek through our choice of terrain, mountainous or jungle. 

The entire experience lasts for 28 days and although we will have 3 accompanying adults, we are completely in charge of all the decision making and care taking of ourselves, from deciding what form of transportation to take and where to stay, to cooking, pitching tents and budgeting our money. 

I must raise $7500 towards airfares, accommodation, transportation, food and the expenses involved in assisting the community chosen. 

This is such an amazing opportunity for me as I wish to pursue a career in humanitarian work. I want to make a difference in this world and I think this experience will be just the first step.
