Sweet Leaf - Debut Album

Please help us complete our debut album.
Sweet Leaf are 5 piece Dub/Indie Rock/Industrial Reggae band from Christchurch that got together in 2009 after a late night poker game with the current band members, initially we were based out of the original Clevetown Studios in Lichfield Street, Christchurch and were due to release the album in November 2010 at an upstairs gig at the Dux De Lux lounge but after the September earthquake destroyed the studio, everything was put on hold.
Before we could carry on with recording the album, the studio had to be completely rebuilt, which it eventually was until the February 2011 earthquake hit. We were then locked out of that studio for over 4 months and with that much down time and all of the post Christchurch earthquake aftermath, it's been hard to maintain the vibe. People have described our sound as having elements of dub rock, reggae, indie and electronica with some saying our range of sound is so diverse they can't put a genre on it and we like it like that!
Here's the plan...
Finishing the album is something we are so passionate about doing, it's one of the things that has kept us all positive and given us something to look forward to through these tough times so finally, now in 2013 we're completing the album almost 3 years after it was first due.
May is NZ Music month so in support of that, we are releasing 2 singles, Everything & Haida Gwaii internationally on iTunes and through other major online outlets from the upcoming album to help raise awareness of this project.
The release date for the album is July 31st 2013 and we are asking for your support to help us meet the cost of mixing, mastering and the production of a limited run of high quality CD albums to sell and to say thanks to the people who pledge for this project and helped make this happen.

So, only a few days to go and it looks like we are going to reach our goal of $3000
The artwork for the album is almost finished, just a few more things to add and then proofed and double checked and it's ready to go to the printers. Make sure you have joined our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/sweetleafmusicnz to stay up to date with all the latest in regards to the album. As soon as all the artwork is signed off, we'll be putting all the info out there as well as some upcoming gigs that we're really excited about.
Steve is working like a mad man putting all the final touches on the mixdowns & getting all the tracks ready to be mastered, again, we'll be putting the tracklist out there once everything is confirmed so make sure you join us on facebook so we can keep you posted.
We'll be in touch with you all as soon as the campaign is finished and will keep you all updated with your various rewards etc. So once again thank you to everybody who has pledged, shared, liked and supported us through this, we weren't really sure how this would go but i guess when you've got such a wicked bunch of friends and supporters, it makes things a lot easier.

Hi everybody.
We are really happy to report that we have almost reached our goal of $3000.
We are only about $600 short with just under 2 weeks to go. This equates to around 25 copies of the album, Unfortunately if we don't reach our goal, we get nothing and there will be some very sad and upset people that wont get their rewards and we want to avoid upsetting people.
So we ask each and all to help us with one more round of annoying all your friends and ask them to take a listen and if they like what they hear, support some NZ artisits and get themselves a copy of the new album, it's only $25 and you'll be one of only 250 people with a hard copy.
We also have some dates coming up where will be performing Sweet Leaf will be performing all the tracks on the new album (and there are some gems that you haven't even heard yet) including "Charlie Manson" & "Walking Talking".

Hey everybody.
So we are 1/3 of the way to reaching our goal and we still have 30 days remaining. We have had some interest in our live performance rewards so we have added another private show (THIS WILL BE THE LAST ONE) and an extra reward to secure a date as part of the album release tour.
Check it out and share this with your friends cos remember.... If we don't reach our target, we don't get anything at all and that would be sad. Mostly sad, because all of these wonderful people who have pledged so generously wont get to enjoy their amazing rewards for helping us out.
