Theatreview On The Fringes And More

Project 2013-01-28 06:05:24 +1300

NZ’s pre-eminent performing arts review website – www.theatreview.org.nz – is facing a funding gap at its busiest time of year. We have 181 theatre and dance shows lined up for review nationwide (so far) for the six weeks from 1 February to mid-March.

These will include reviews of the Auckland Festival, Auckland Fringe and NZ Fringe (Wellington) - to be closely followed by the Dunedin Fringe: extraordinary festivals of creativity from emerging and established talent. Many of these productions will only get reviewed on Theatreview.

To accomplish this work load we need a minimum of $5,000 by 14 February. Anything over that target will buy us more time as we pursue more secure funding options.

Your faith and generosity overwhelms us. Theatreview lives on! Now we are free to focus on all the performing arts activity in store this month and next, including (but not only) the NZ Fringe in Wellington, the Auckland Fringe and Auckland Arts Festival, the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival, the Dunedin Fringe, The Capital E National Arts Festival ... Enjoy!

... and thanks again for the video!

12/02/2013 at 1:07 AM

Once more, huge thanks to Jack O'Donnell and all who contributed to the promo video.

THANK YOU ALL!

12/02/2013 at 1:03 AM

What joy to have reached our goal with 2 1/2 days to spare. Thank you all who pledged - Theatreview will now be able to meet its immediate objectives through the very busy weeks to come.

Of course, being new to this, we set the target at the minimum we needed in order to increase our chances of reaching it. Anything over will buy us a little more breathing space as we pursue more secure funding options for the longer term.

Again, multitudiunous thank yous to all!

Dunnit!!

Who dunnit! You - with dollars and time to spare!!!  Thank you all!

May I now beg your indulgence regarding the rewards? Expect them late March given our immediate priorities.

3 days to go!

11/02/2013 at 7:15 PM

Greetings all

Have your alerted your networks to our Pledge Me campaign? https://www.pledgeme.co.nz/780#

So far 106 people have pledge $4,226.

We need $775 by the day after tomorrow or we don’t get any of it!

Please send the link to your networks without delay.

31 x 25?

11/02/2013 at 10:13 AM

Wow, what a big day! Thank you all!! Now if 31 more people Pledge $25 each ...

100 Pledgers!

11/02/2013 at 2:35 AM

Whoo hoo! 100 Pledgers have pledged just over $4.000! That's 80%!

And of course we all know that we have to reach the goal to get any of it, eh.

Can we do it?

10/02/2013 at 11:07 PM

Just $1,764 to go, thanks to 80 generous Pledgers! Can we do it by Thursday?

Despite the funding gap, The Theatreview Trust found the resources to retain the services of our editors to schedule more than 200 reviews in the next 6 weeks, commission reviewers to cover them and set up production pages for each show.

Now the Trust needs your help to buy the time for those reviews to be received, edited and published for their immediate value and the historical record.

Please pass the link on to your networks! https://www.pledgeme.co.nz/780

Be our early Valentines!

All is almost prepared for Theatreview critics to review over 200 performing arts shows nationwide over the next 6 weeks. What our Pledge Me campaign will do is buy Raewyn and John the time to receive, edit and publish them (as well as review quite a few shows themselves). Please help us breathe easier sooner rather than later: be our early Valentines! - https://www.pledgeme.co.nz/780
