This PledgeMe funding is for buying plants for the public Hawea Food Forest where the food will be freely available.

A Food Forest is where every plant has been chosen for a purpose. Initially there will be 43 species each selected for year round food supply, nitrogen fixing ability, insect attractants and more. See the full list at http://goo.gl/blcvc This PledgeMe funding is to buy them all.

The initial forest development is 700 square metres and more clusters will be developed as resource allow. The forest is on public land at the Hawea Domain. The Forest is managed by a Charitable trust. A short intro to Food Forests: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHMu_OjcZtk
