About

It's The Yeast We Can Do.

Project 2023-09-26 10:58:17 +1300

We deliver.

A few years ago Froth Technologies was born with the dream of localising yeast supply and helping the brewers of Aotearoa make all-Kiwi beers by raising yeast right here in NZ.

In 2019 we ran our first PledgeMe campaign, where we sought to raise funds to upscale our production capacity by setting up our own custom designed yeast factory. We also laid out our Carbon Reduction Strategy where we set the goal of becoming Carbon Zero Certified, and made our case that with your help we would work to unlock the hidden flavours of Aotearoa and put them into your pint.

So here we are, a few years later. We’re proud to say that following that successful campaign in 2019 we have managed to achieve everything we promised and more! We’re supplying yeast to craft breweries all over NZ, and we're now starting to export yeast to breweries in Australia. We’ve gone beyond our goal of Carbon Neutrality and become a certified Net Climate Positive Business and invested in a solar PV system on our roof. And last, but certainly not least, after years of R&D we have just released the first commercial brewers yeast harvested from the wilds of Aotearoa. Our mahi has been recognised with a handful of awards in business & innovation.

🍺 But what about home brew?

Our passion for beer all started with home brewing, so finding a way to share Froth Tech yeast with our local home brewers has been on the list for a while, and now with your help we can make it happen!

Your support of our PledgeMe crowdfunding campaign will help us pay for the essential equipment and packaging we need to launch our range of home brew yeast pouches. Support your local home brewer, and be a part of the next chapter in the Froth Tech story.

Yeast is a microorganism that is responsible for fermentation in beer, wine and cider and a major influencer of quality and flavour. For the home brewers of NZ it means fresh, active, local product - which means healty fermentation, and better tasting beer.

💰 MINIMUM GOAL: $10,000 - Home brew yeast launch & delivery

💸 STRETCH  GOAL: $25,000 - This would allow us to scale-up by increasing our production capacity through upgraded yeast tanks, temperature & quality control.

Check out our range of awesome rewards that you can get your hands on by pledging. Grab yourself something special, or gift something crafty this Xmas. Rewards will be dispatched in time for Xmas, but only if we reach our minimum target of $10,000.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Please check your email address on your PledgeMe profile. Sometimes accounts can be registered with old email addresses from the past, and your email is the only way we can contact you about delivering your rewards.

👋 Team Froth Tech:

RYAN CARVILLE
Co-founder / Left Brain

Ryan is our ‘Head Yeast Farmer’ and looks after all aspects of production and quality control at Froth Technologies. This role sees Ryan drawing our yeast out of its cryogenic hibernation, nursing it along the early stages of growth in our lab, through its adolescent development in our larger stainless propagation vessels until it reaches the peak of its development to active, vital, mature yeast, at which stage he harvests it ready for packaging to embark of its next big milestone; going to work in a brewery.

Ryan also oversees our production scheduling, food safety, carbon monitoring, and R&D projects. Ryan keeps the Froth train rolling at pace with the diligence and attention to detail required when raising trillions of yeast cells every week.

SIMON COOKE
Co-founder / Right Brain

Simon gets the yeast out to the brewers of Aotearoa, carefully dispensing our pure yeast cultures into their final packing ready for cold storage. Simon prepares orders for breweries, packs the perfect yeast volume for their brew, boxes it up in an insulated carton with ice packs ready for overnight delivery to breweries all over NZ, and now to Australia as well. With his creative hat on, Simon manages our branding and design, social media and website. He loves to problem solve and think outside the box, and enjoys the challenge of designing custom parts and equipment as needed, to be integrated into our unique propagation process.

Simon enjoys connecting with brewers near and far, collaborating on special brews, shooting videos that showcase the creative process of brewing beer, and of course - tasting the final product that ignites our passion: craft beer.
